Friday the 11th saw the SP call a scramble to Sandown on the Isle of Wight to make the most of the phenomenal spell of good weather we've been having recently. 4 aircraft crossed the Solent to enjoy the top spring sunshine.

Saturday 8th March saw us at Sywell for the season opener. We were blessed with a beautiful day and enough crosswind to concentrate the mind. The original plan had been Old Warden but soggy grass runways necessitated using the alternate. Sadly, I have to report the death of long term Squadron member Roger Richardson Bunbury. Roger was a great supporter of the Squadron and attended events right up to 2023. He will be missed.

Bob was heavily involved in the world of gliding throughout his life and ran the Squadron's involvement with the Portsmouth Naval Gliding Club.
